Level 2

  • Presets
    • changing a preset- what is effected?
    • is it understood what a preset is and how the ensuing print is influenced?
  • Do users see the differences in the preview and the summary?
    • is the summary information noticeable and informative?
  • relationship between no. of copies, no. of pages and paper use
  • do users understand collate and the collate symbol?
  • Page range- no. of pages and no of pages printed- is it clear why this can be different, and how it changes when certain parameters are changed?
  • Can users easily find level 3?

Level 3

Tags

Are the tag names informative, can users use tags to achieve their aims? ( we know from the previous test that they broadly understand how tags work)

  • do they understand the differences between tags and presets?
  • can users see the relationship between level 2 and level 3 clearly?
  • can users get back to level 2 easily- do they want to?

Specific Parameters:

These are the parameters which will be able to be tested

  • page range- can users change a page range
  • pages per side - n-up

should print on (media selection) also be tested?

Test group criteria

  • We would definitely prefer English native speakers.
  • We would like the group to include people who use printers in an office/networked environment.


Further issues

  • Can users save a preset?
    • Do they understand what that would mean and why it could be done?
  • Do users understand scrolling through pages, do they get the arrows for documents of 2 pages?
